Bristan H405HGB Java Ceramic Cartridge Valve Replacement Steps

1. Isolate water supply lines (hot and cold) leading to the kitchen tap.
2. Lift the handle to the “on” stance. This will lessen the pressure on the ceramic disc cartridge while doing the repair.
3. Flick the red and blue indice out. You can use your fingernail or a small flat-head screwdriver. Be careful not to scratch the finish.
4. Pull the handle out, including the protective shroud.
5. Remove the retaining nut.
6. Use a socket spanner to extract the faulty cartridge.

7. Use the appropriate silicone grease on all the O-rings of the Bristan H405HGB replacement part. One O-ring is on the lower portion of the barrel, the other two are at the bottom of the cartridge.
8. Push the replacement cartridge in the Java Monobloc valve housing. See to it that the 2 locating pins are properly embedded in the corresponding holes in the tap valve.

9. Screw the retaining nut. Use a spanner to tighten it.
10. Return the protective shroud.
11. Set the handle to the “on” position above the shroud. Secure it with the screw.
12. Snap in the red and blue indice.
13. Open water supply lines and check if the installation is successful, without any signs of leaks.
