This blue bottom SMR tap cartridge replacement is a clockwise close ceramic disc valve.

You can take the measurements of the faulty tap cartridge and compare it with the measurements of this replacement SMR tap cartridge.

– You would be able to take the measurements of the cartridge you have by taking it out of the kitchen tap. Depending on the tap you have, the handle retaining screw can be found on the side or under the tap handle. Sometimes the screw can be hidden under a screw cover cap.

– Once you discover the location of the retaining screw, loosen the screw by using an Allen key to remove the handle. If the kitchen tap has a cartridge hood, remove the part. Some hoods can be pulled out but some have threads. Hoods with threads can be unscrewed by hand to remove the part.

An adjustable spanner can be used to remove the cartridge from the tap. Measure the faulty cartridge.

The spline is the toothed part on the top of the SMR tap cartridge. Most cartridges have this part which connects to the handle. Please count how many teeth are on the spline of the cartridge. If it is not 28 then you need a different part.
