How to replace the A962478NU solenoid valve in a Sensorflow 21 or Markwik electronic tap

Replacing the A962478NU Ideal Standard / Armitage Shanks solenoid valve can seem quite intimidating. You can opt to call an electrician or plumber to help fix your shower. Here are the steps for changing a solenoid valve for taps.

1. Never forget to turn off both hot and cold water supplies before starting. Unscrew and remove the control box cover.
2. Take out the PC electronic board and disengage it from the plug.

3. Take out the red and black wires from the solenoid valve by removing its four screws. Then slowly extract the valve. Check to see if the valve diaphragm is removed from the chamber. If not, please make sure to remove it as well.
Note: Water will seep out, hence it will be helpful to have a small container and a towel.

4. Install the new Ideal Standard A962478NU solenoid valve by gently pushing and positioning it properly in the chamber. Screw the four screws in and tighten.

5. Reconnect the valve to the red and black sensor wires.
6. Plug the PC electronic board and situate it back in place in the control box.

7. Screw back the control box cover and tighten it.
8. Turn the hot and cold water supplies on and test if the replacement is a success.
