The AQ8083 can be used on the following Crosswater shower valves:

You can remove this flow cartridge with a 17mm box spanner. This will enable access to the locking nut.

The Crosswater AQ8083 has a long spindle for 3/4 shower valves.

Aside from the Crosswater Parent 3, the AQ8083 on/off flow cartridge replacement can be used with the pre-2007 Crosswater 2000 and the Crosswater Kai Lever KL0001RC shower units. This flow cartridge was previously known as the AQ3083.

How-to: Crosswater AQ8083 Removal and Replacement
Before proceeding to fit the Crosswater spare part, please close hot and cold water supplies.

1. Unscrew the shower valve lever handles by hand. It is now possible to access the screw holding the handle caps. Undo the screws to remove the caps.
2. Unscrew the fixing screws. Remove the ring parts and the faceplate retaining nuts.
3. Remove the faceplate.

4. Use a 17mm box spanner to twist the old flow cartridge out of the shower valve.
5. Grease the O-ring and the seals of the replacement Crosswater flow cartridge AQ8083. Fit it inside the valve and screw it in place using the box spanner.

6. Return the parts in reverse order to reassemble the shower valve.

Question: My shower is a Crosswater Kai I cannot get the handle out.
Answer: If you have already removed the screws holding the handle, it may become stuck because of calcified hard water minerals. You can try tapping on the sides of the handles and see if it loosens. If that does not work, you can try using WD40.

Question: Is this the right part for a Hudson Reed shower?
Answer: This cartridge can also fit in other shower units. Please send us a photo of your old cartridge so we can see if this is the correct part.
