How to Replace a Thermostatic Cartridge?
When attempting to replace a thermostatic cartridge, always make sure that you – or any part of your body – is not under the water outlet throughout the process because of the possibility that hot water might flow out.
Turn off hot and cold water supplies. Then turn the shower on to be certain the water supply is successfully turned off.
To ensure water supply is turned off:
Use a hex key to remove the shower valve housing handle. Then remove the handle prong.

Next, pull the stop ring to remove. Do not remove the cartridge. Put back the thermostatic handle on the valve and turn it counterclockwise until it stops. After it comes to a stop, rotate the handle clockwise.

1. On the bottom of the valve, use the hex key to remove the cartridge by pulling it out of the valve housing.
2. Use a cloth to wipe the inside of the valve or run it with water to clean.
3. Use a silicone lubricant to grease the cartridge. Replace the cartridge in the valve housing. Make sure the hole for the grub screw on the cartridge is aligned with the hole from the bottom of the valve housing.
4. Replace the grub screw and tighten.
5. Calibrate the cartridge until the water temperature is sustained at 38℃ (100.4℉).
6. Put back the stop ring with the stop point directly on top. Make sure the cartridge spline is not moved.
7. Put the handle back. The handle’s stop position should be at the top.
8. Fasten back the grub screw.
9. Set the prong back in place.
10. Check the water temperature once again.
