SUMMARY

E002467 (1 x Clockwise and 1 x Anti-Clockwise Close Cartridges) of Ideal Standard / Trevi 1/2", Quarter Turn On/Off Ceramic Disc Flow Cartridge for Taps and Shower Valves. Please note, the screws are no longer included with the cartridge.

The total height of this cartridge is 52mm to 53mm depending upon how compressed the bottom seal is. If the cartridge you require is between 56mm and 57mm, then you will need the S960025NU cartridges.

Changing Ideal Standard E002467 Flow Cartridge
1: Shut off water cold and hot water supplies from under the sink.
2: Drain the remaining water from the pipe by turning the tap on until water flow stops.
3: Use an Allen key to detach the handle. Remove the handle and its decorative cap to reveal the ceramic cartridge.

4: With a small spanner undo the cartridge from the valve seat.
5: Rid the valve and its seals of dirt using a small brush.

6: Apply silicone grease directly on the o-rings new Ideal Standard E002467 cartridge. Seat it in the valve and tighten with the spanner.
7: Redo the screws on the decorative cap and handles to restore.


How does a ceramic disc tap work?
As opposed to older tap models which used rubber washers, taps of today utilize cartridges made from ceramic to prevent drips. This is mechanism is at work in Ideal Standard's Tantadisc mixer taps which uses the E002467 cartridge pair. Ceramic disc taps are low maintenance and more durable than their past counterparts.

Water flow is controlled by two gliding discs resulting in a seal that is airtight as a means to hinder water leaks. A pillar tap or a two handle tap has a ceramic cartridge with one opening whereas a mixer tap cartridge has two openings. Turning a tap on aligns the discs allowing water flow. Turning it off blocks water and keeps it from seeping out.

The discs are hardened through fire making them nearly as tough as diamonds. Its seals are almost perfectly smooth and flat. Fluctuations or extreme temperatures will not impact a ceramic disc cartridge. The level of water hardness can affect the
