The new design of this cartridge has changed but it will fit the valve.

This 40mm ceramic disc cartridge is a Swirl shower mixer tap spare. Being made of ceramic, it is highly durable and limescale will not cling to the walls of the cartridge as much as a one constructed fully from brass.

Installing the Swirl 40mm Cartridge Tap Spare
The following cartridge replacement procedure relates to the Swirl Manual Shower with Solid Lever (SKU71546).

Isolate water supplies before starting.

1. Remove the screw cover/indice from under the solid lever handle. Loosen the grub screw. Pull out the handle – force might be required if calcification is present.
2. Concealed valve unit: Turn the retaining nut anticlockwise to remove. Withdraw the faceplate.
Exposed valve unit: Please proceed to step 3.
3. Remove the protective shroud.
4. Undo the collar holding the cartridge. Extract the old cartridge.

5. Clean the dirt and possible limescale buildup in the valve.
6. Layer a tiny coating of silicone grease on the O-ring of the Swirl 40mm cartridge replacement. Install it in the shower valve. See to it that the cartridge’s locating pins are embedded in the corresponding slots inside the valve body and not in any water inlet.

7. Reinstall the collar followed by the protective shroud.
8. Concealed valve unit: Slide the faceplate in. Secure it with the retaining nut.
Exposed valve unit: Please move on to the next step.
9. Restore the handle and affix with the grub screw.
10. Clip the indice in place.
