How to Replace the A953190NU Ideal Standard Multiport Cartridge

Notes: No matter what tap model you have, here are four guides that will help you achieve a successful single lever cartridge replacement.

1. Completely cut off hot and cold water supplies before starting.
2. Coat the two bottom O-rings of a new Ideal Standard A953190NU Multiport Cartridge with silicone grease made especially for plumbing.
3. When fitting the cartridge in the valve, make sure the bottom of the cartridge does not block any of the inlet ports.
4. Do not tighten the nut too much as this will make the cartridge hard to control.

For the Tratto Bath Tap:
1. Remove the hot/cold indicator. Remove the nut using a 10A/F box spanner. Take the washer out. Lift lever handle to free it.

2. Remove the chrome shield and the retaining ring to access the cartridge.

3. Withdraw the old cartridge from the valve seat. Seat the new Ideal Standard Multiport Single Lever A953190NU cartridge in.

4. Restore the retaining ring and the shield.

5. Place the handle in position and reattach the washer and nut. Return the hot and cold indicator.

For the Domi Solo Bath Tap:
1. Strip the tap of its handle. If the handle has a hot and cold indicator (new version with a metal handle), pop it out using a small and flat, bluntly pointed tool. Then proceed to undo the nut with a 10A/F box spanner and remove the washer. Extract the handle by pulling it up.

2. Remove the shroud. Turn the retaining ring anticlockwise to detach it.

3. Take the cartridge out of the valve unit and replace it with the Ideal Standard replacement cartridge A953190NU one.

4. Reinstate the shroud by turning it clockwise.

5. Restore the handle, washer, and nut. Pop the red/blue indicator in.

For the Halo Bath Tap:
1. Remove the tap’s dome cover. This can be done by using a rubber glove to lift it out.

2. Release the nut and washer using a box spanner.

3. Lift the handle and shroud out of the way.

4. Extract the old cartridge and fit in the new A953190NU.

5. Reconstruct the valve by reintroducing the withdrawn parts back in reverse order.
