Replacing the Cartridge on an Opto Thermo Concealed Valve by Aqualisa
Before attempting to replace the cartridge, please make sure to turn off both hot and cold water supplies. When checking if water supplies have been successfully turned off (or when turning it back on), please be certain that no part of your body is under the showerhead or under any water outlet to prevent accidental scalding or thermal shock.
1. Turn off both hot and cold water supplies.
2. Take off the lozenge fascia from the valve cover by popping out the label badge and unscrewing the lozenge.
3. Remove the upper and lower shroud.
4. Undo the screws to unfasten the cartridge. Pull to remove.
5. Remove the control knobs from both ends of the cartridge. The left side knob is the on/off control and the right side knob is for temperature control.
6. Push the cartridge in the valve and tighten the screws.
7. Affix the knobs onto the new cartridge. Make sure the on/off control is set to the left and the temperature control to the right.
8. Turn both hot and cold water supplies on to determine if the installation is done successfully and water calibrated to the preferred temperature.
9. Return the lower and upper shrouds.
10. Install the valve cover and screw back the lozenge. Embed the label badge.
