A shower valve thermo core – thermostatic cartridge – makes adjusting water temperature operable with a turn of the control knob. The EuroBath Orbit and Regatta compatible thermostatic cartridge has a two-tier spline. Made of brass, it is hardwearing in good water conditions.

Changing a EuroBath Thermostatic Cartridge
To get to the cartridge, the valve handle and protective shroud must first be removed. A cartridge with a screw-in fitment will require the aid of a spanner to twist it out of the valve seat.

Once the cartridge is removed, inspect the valve for debris and clean it with water.

Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant on the o-rings of the cartridge and install it in the shower valve.

The EuroBath Orbit and Regatta thermostatic cartridge is used in a mixer bath tap that incorporates a pressure balance mechanism to produce a tepid temperature by combining a proportion of hot and cold water. Repairing a shower valve involves figuring out the part where the problem originated.

O-rings and washers keep water from seeping out of the valve and the cartridge. It will deteriorate over time and continued use. These seals can easily be replaced to address the problem. A cracked cartridge can no longer be repaired and will call for a replacement.
