WRAS approved and made and tested by Vernet, spare part SP-077-0148 is an anti-limescale, TMV2 certified thermostatic shower cartridge. Polymer is known to be more resistant to scale adhesion than its brass equivalent.

Replacing the SP-077-0148 Thermostatic Cartridge from an Electric Shower (NewTeam 201T)

Important: It is best to seek advice from a professional electrician before attempting to fix an electric shower.

Isolate water supplies and power leading to the shower. Remove the fuse from the fuse board to ensure electricity is completely cut off. Flush the remaining water out of the supply pipes.

1. Yank out the cover cap. Undo the screw to free the temperature control lever. Lift the over-ride assembly and the flow lever off. You can take a photo as you remove each part to help you in the reassembly later on.

2. Undo the cover screws found on top and at the bottom of the unit and remove the cover. Gently pull the thermostatic cartridge out.

3. Apply the appropriate plumber’s grease on the three external O-rings of the new SP-077-0148. Insert the cartridge in the electric shower’s valve seat.

4. Put the cover back and redo the screws.

5. Reassembly will be easier if you have taken the photo as you deconstructed it (step one).
– Return the flow lever. The two legs found at the back of the lever must be positioned against the flat sides of the cartridge.
– Align the red button of the over-ride assembly with the white dot found on the flow lever.
– Return the temperature control lever. Make sure it is aligned with the flow lever.

6. Redo the screw and return the cover cap.

7. Open water supply lines and restore the fuse in the fuse board. Verify if the installation is correct by turning the water on.

SP-077-0148 Cartridge Temperature Adjustment

The temperature setting of the electric shower model NewTeam 201T is factory set to 100.4℉ (38℃) maximum. If you prefer the temperature be higher or lower, remove the temperature lever, the over-ride assembly, and the flow lever.

Set the shower handset to spray mode. Then, turn the flow lever to the left until it comes to a full stop.

Rotate the brass spindle of the NewTeam SP-077-0148 thermostatic cartridge to the left (anticlockwise) for a hotter temperature. Turn it to the right (clockwise) for a cooler temperature. Measure water temperature with a handheld thermometer.

Once you are contented with the temperature, return the levers and over-ride assembly. Take care not to move the temperature spindle as you return the pieces in place. Verify if the calibration is done correctly.

Cartridges produced by Vernet are TMV2 and / or TMV3 complaint. The certification makes certain that cartridges released are safe for household use.
