The new cartridge is exactly the same (photo 3) but without the blue and red.

A thermoelement rests securely in the core of the PAT:ZL00201132.8 thermostatic cartridge. Copper and wax are enclosed in the element and is responsible for regulating shower water temperature. It expands and contracts as hot and cold water enter the cartridge gauzing. The pin moves up and down as the wax melts and solidifies.
