A: The usual procedure is to remove the handle. Unscrew the grub screw to remove the push-fitment cartridge. Pull the cartridge out and install the new one. In some occasions, much force is needed to release the cartridge as limescale may have accumulated.

Steam Shower Cartridge Replacement Tips
There are a few things you need to remember before and after you change your Sanisteam GL500 and GL30s steam shower’s thermostatic cartridge.

- Isolating hot and cold water supply is primarily important. This is done to prevent injuries in the event of unintended hot or cold water flow. If you are unable to find the isolation valves, water supply can be cut from the main valve.

- Put a stopper on your bath’s drain before starting the repair. Plugging your drain will save small bits and pieces (screws and O-rings) from tumbling into the drain.

- After the installation has been completed, check the temperature of your shower water using a digital thermometer. (Make sure no part of your body is under any water outlet.) Readjust the temperature if desired. Turning the splines clockwise will make the temperature colder. Turning it the opposite direction will increase the water temperature.

- Use an Allen key to free the push-fit steam shower cartridge.
