Thermostatic Cartridge for Moretti Acqua | Arlo Screwfix Thermostatic Bar Mixer Showers

SUMMARY

This is a spare thermostatic cartridge which will fit Moretti Acqua and Arlo Thermo Mixers. The Moretti range of showers is are made by Screwfix however unfortunately the Acqua and Arlo shower bars have been discontinued by them and are no longer available.

The replacement cartridge is a push fit installation. There is a small grub screw at the bottom of the mixer which will hold the thermostatic cartridge in place.

Common Problems with the Moretti and Arlo Shower Mixers
- After a number of years of use, the thermostatic cartridge tends to have a limescale build up. This limescale, if not treated early can damage the inside of the cartridge due to the abrasive nature of it on the moving piston. In hard water areas limescale will tend to build up quickly on the thermo cartridge (unless you have a water softener). This can happen even as soon as a couple of years and can cause the cartridge to fail.

- The Moretti Aqcua and Arlo thermostatic cartridge have gauze filters which stops small bits getting from the water pipe into the cartridge. This can cause the gauze filters to block which means you will experience a drop in shower performance.

- A damaged thermo cartridge will not regulate water temperature correctly. This will quite often be in the form of fluctuating water temperature, or the cartridge might not be able to hold a stable water temperature. Both signs that the cartridge is on its last legs and needs replacing.
