The Vado V-CA43T-CAR is the replacement part for showers that exhibit issues including water temperature-related problems, insufficient water output or leaks.

V-CA43T-CAR Vado thermostatic cartridge has two filters and three O-rings. It is a TMV cartridge that mixes hot and cold water enabling the valve to yield water temperature set at the temperature control handle. This replacement cartridge is capable of dispensing shower water temperature that is unfluctuating and automatically balanced. It controls temperature within +/- 2℃ (35.6℉).

Through years of use, limescale from poor water quality has the tendency to collect wherever water passes. This can adversely affect the shower valve and its cartridges. Vado shower valve cartridge V-CA43T-CAR has a white polymer valve housing. When compared to cartridges with brass housings, limescale sticks less to the polymer material.

Is this your first time repairing a shower valve? There are some simple and handy tips for replacing the Vado V-CA43T-CAR thermostatic cartridge.

– Before Opening the Shower Valve
First and foremost the water supplies and pressure to the valve must be isolated. This is a safety measure that will prevent scalding or thermal shock in the event of accidental water flow. Water can be cut off by switching off the main valve if the isolation valve is impossible to locate.

Fully open the shower to test if water is completely isolated. Return the handle to the closed position prior to disassembling the valve.

The drain in the shower enclosure can be plugged to prevent small screws from falling in.

– Temperature Stop Ring
The raised part of the temperature stop ring is known as the “stop.” This shower valve part can be found resting on top of the Vado V-CA43T-CAR retaining ring/collar.

Remember its position before slipping it out of the thermostatic cartridge because the “stop” point must be in the same position when putting the valve back together.

Open water supplies and cycle the shower from fully hot to fully cold a few times.
