SUMMARY

This is a genuine Vernet CA203 LA-00 coaxial dual control thermostatic cartridge. The Vernet CA203 LA-00 is used in some different Wickes shower mixer models including the Cascada as well as other brands including Swirl showers.

This cartridge is also called the Vernet 25400.

The thermostatic cartridge assembly is made up of different parts, the first being the cartridge itself. Around the cartridge is a body and around that housing body is another body which is the blue part you can see in the photos. The cartridge is often used in low pressure, concealed faucet multi-function showers and baths.

Sometimes the fault isn't with the cartridge but rather with the body surrounding the cartridge, where parts can fracture and break. Unfortunately we don't sell just the body, therefore even if it's just this part which is faulty, you'll need to buy the entire piece.

Usually you will see the code 'LA-00' followed by some other numbers and characters on your cartridge. The only code that matters is the LA-00, therefore if your cartridge looks like the one in the photo and has that LA-00 code on it, this is the correct cartridge you need. Further codes which may be on the outer casing are 31286-0b gfn3 08a. Cartridge may also go by the name of 25400.

Question: Can I buy just the cartridge surrounding body?
Answer: Unfortunately not.

Question: The water temperature in my shower won't go hot, or it won't go cold, or it won't stay at a constant temperature. What's the solution?
Answer: In most cases, the cause will be a faulty thermostatic cartridge and replacing it should fix the problem. However, do check to see whether a constant flow of hot water is reaching the shower mixer from the boiler as a first point of call.

Question: The turn stop locating pins on the body have broken causing the cartridge to spin 360 degrees without stopping, is there a way to fix this without buying a whole new cartridge assembly?
Answer: Unfortunately no, you'll have to buy the entire assembly to fix this, however this is not necessarily a negative as you'll have a brand new inner workings of your shower mixer.
