Question: How do I install the ZSPSBARCA10 thermostatic shower cartridge?
Answer: You can install the Ultra / Hudson Reed ZSPSBARCA10 cartridge by
1. Removing the cover cap on the temperature handle of the shower valve.
2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the fixing screw. Slide the temperature handle out.
3. Remove the temperature stop.
4. Locate the grub screw of the push-fit cartridge. Loosen and remove the screw to pull the cartridge out.
5. Grease the 3 O-rings of the new Ultra ZSPSBARCA10 cartridge. Use silicone grease made especially for plumbing.
6. Insert the cartridge in the valve and reassemble the handle.

Question: My shower’s water temperature is going up and down. It became unstable recently and it has been getting worse. Will changing the temperature cartridge solve the problem?
Answer: Check to see if the valve is receiving a steady flow of hot and cold water from the boiler to the supply lines. If the water supplies are stable and the valve has no clogs, changing the thermostatic cartridge is a must.

Answer: Once all the fixing screws are out, a lot of force is needed to remove a stuck handle. The accumulation of debris can be due to poor water quality. We have a magnetic limescale inhibitor for 15 to 25mm pipework that can address such an issue.
