Bristan Prism Thermostatic Cartridge Assembly (SK1400-5) Fix in Seven Easy Steps
1. Unscrew the handle prong by hand. Take off the grub screw using a handy Allen key. Separate the handle cap from the valve.
2. Latch an adjustable spanner on the nut of the thermostatic cartridge. Remove the cartridge by turning the spanner anticlockwise.
3. Extract the cartridge housing, the wax thermo-element, plastic piston shuttle, and spring. Remove the shower valve body O-rings.
4. Fit the new O-rings in the valve. Apply a small amount of silicone grease.
5. Assemble the thermostatic cartridge. The spring goes in the cartridge housing followed by the plastic piston, and the spring. Apply silicone grease on the cartridge O-rings.
6. Slide the Bristan spare part SK1400-5 cartridge assembly spring first in the valve body.
7. Reconstruct the valve handle by returning the handle cap, grub screw, and handle prong.
