How to Replace a CART 06701COMPL Ceramic Disc Cartridge on a Manual Lever Tap

The Bristan Qube, Chill, and Prism are manual lever basin mixer taps using the CART 06701COMPL cartridge. Just like any other tap valve, the cartridge in a manual lever tap sits under the handle hood. To replace this type of cartridge on a lever tap valve make sure to switch off the sink’s water supply and test if isolation is successful before proceeding.

1: Pull the handle up to its on position when attempting to replace the cartridge. This will keep the replacement seals from fracturing.
2: Loosen the screw in the tap handle to remove it. Some handles can be removed by merely yanking it out. Other handles are affixed with a grub screw at the back. And then there are handles with a decorative hot and cold indicator that can be removed by hand to access the screw under it.

3: Take the shroud off by turning it counterclockwise.
4: Use a spanner to unfasten the cartridge brass collar. Then extract the cartridge.

5: Take the new Bristan CART 06701COMPL cartridge and install it inside the tap valve housing. Pivot and wiggle it in place until it does not turn.
6: Refit the brass collar using a spanner and tighten.

7: Put the shroud back and tighten till it is hand tight.
8: Position the tap handle in place. Reopen the sink’s water supply line to check if cartridge installation is successful without any leaks. Then screw back the tap handle back to fasten.
