How to Fit the Carron Phoenix Hot Opus Tap Cartridge

This Carron Phoenix hot Opus tap cartridge is a compatible spare part. The original tap spare is known as 1212R, 3984R and 3984R-C. Turn off the tap’s water supplies before beginning the repair.

1. Remove the red indice on the hot side handle (the blue indice for cold). A flat and blunt tool or your fingernail can be used to remove the indice. Please be careful not to scratch the tap’s finish when using a screwdriver.

2. The handle’s retaining screw can now be accessed. Loosen the screw adequately using a hexagonal key then remove the handle.

Due to corrosion or calcification, it may take an extra amount of force to pry out the handle. Hold the tap spout firmly in place and pull out the handle.

3. Unscrew the valve cover by hand.

4. Grab a spanner and unscrew the hot valve cartridge which can be kept for future reference.

5. Layer a thin coating of silicone grease on the seal (O-ring) of the replacement Carron Phoenix hot Opus tap cartridge.

6. Push the new part in the valve seat and screw it in until hand-tight.

7. Return the valve cover, the handle, the retaining screw and the indice.
