Franke Ascona cartridge replacement part (3308R-C compatible) has a 7.8mm spline diameter. The spline teeth count is 28. This quarter-turn cold cartridge opens anti-clockwise and closes clockwise.

The 3308R-C is discontinued. The SP3794 is the replacement for the 3308R. The difference between the two is on the head nut. The 3308R-C is rounded while the SP3794 has a hexagonal head.

Franke Ascona Cartridge Replacement Process

The Ascona is a swivel spout kitchen tap by Franke. It has a hot flow rate of 3.20 liters per minute at 0.3 bar. Low-pressure water systems are not apt for this Franke product line. The tap comes in two finishes: chrome and silk steel.

These are the simple steps to replace the Franke Ascona cartridge:
1. Use a 2mm hex key to unscrew the grub screw found beneath the handle. Turn the key anti-clockwise until the handle can be removed.

2. Once the handle is out, you will be able to see the top of the cartridge. Use an adjustable spanner and turn it anti-clockwise to free the cartridge.

3. Insert a newly greased Franke Ascona cartridge then screw it in in a clockwise motion.

4. Put the handle back and screw it back in place.


Extra Information: Replacing the O-Rings of the Franke Ascona Kitchen Tap
It is usual for the Franke Ascona to leak where the tap head and body are connected. Extended use or constant swiveling might be among the reasons for this. Here is the procedure in replacing the Ascona’s o-rings:

1. Lodge a hex key behind the tap’s body where a small screw is located. Turn the key counterclockwise and remove the screw.
2. Yank the spout from the body to access the o-rings on the base of the spout itself.
3. Use a flatbed screwdriver or your fingers to remove the o-rings one by one. There are four in total.

4. Put in the new o-rings according to this sequence: big white plastic ring, big black rubber ring, small black rubber ring, and small white plastic ring.
Note: When fitting in the big white plastic ring, ensure that it does not obstruct the hole at the back of the spout where the grub screw goes.

5. Replace the spout back in the valve. Push it until it clicks.
Note: Ensure the orientation of the hole at the back of the spout is aligned with the hole at the back of the valve.

6. Screw back the grub screw with a clockwise turn. Tighten.
