Accessing the Franke Eiger Tap Cartridge SP3561 / 1427R

It is important to shut off the water supply prior to starting the repair.

– This Franke Eiger cartridge replacement is the same as the SP3561 and the 1427R. It is specifically for the hot side (located at the left of the tap) of the Franke made Eiger. There is a tiny grub screw affixing the handle; undo it using an Allen key. Then remove the shroud protecting the cartridge. Grip a small spanner on the nut part of the cartridge to unscrew it from the valve.

– With the valve seat exposed, it is best to clear it of sediment debris with a damp cloth or a soft-bristled tool.

– Spread a thin layer of silicone grease on the o-ring of the brand new cartridge and secure it inside the tap valve housing. Reattach the protective shroud and the handle.
