About the Mira Spare Part: 1836.170 is a push-fit flow diverter cartridge. It is a 35mm replacement cartridge with a 20 teeth spindle. At 3 Bar, the cartridge can handle at least 21 litres per minute (5.5 gallons per minute) water flow rate.

Common Problems: The most common causes of problems regarding the flow diverter are hard water sediments and/or wear and tear. Limescale can collect on the brass spindle which results in a stiff to turn handle. Wear and tear can affect the entire Mira 1836.170 from the spline to the bottom seal giving rise to leaks.

Fitting: Changing the Mira 1836.170 can be simple. Turn off the hot and cold water supply to the shower. Then remove the handle, the retaining nut, and take out and replace the diverter cartridge.

Mira Coda Pro ERD Bar Valve:
– Remove the screw cover. This is the small circular cap on the side of the flow control handle.
– With the cap removed, undo or loosen the retaining screw to remove the handle.
(1744.108 is the replacement thermostatic cartridge.)

Mira Atom ERD Bar Valve:
– Remove the round cap at the side of the flow control handle.
– Remove the screw and the subsequent parts to access the Mira 1836.170.
(1663.114 is the replacement thermostatic cartridge.)

*Before endeavoring the cartridge replacement, switch off hot and cold water supply to prevent scalding in case of accidental water flow.
