The Bristan ceramic disc valve VLV 04070TER-OF sits in the rear of the 06732-COMPL thermostatic cartridge. It is a 3/4 inch on/off cartridge that controls the shower’s water flow. It opens in an anti-clockwise direction and closes in the opposite.

Once the thermostatic cartridge is out, it is time to separate the Bristan VLV 04070TER-OF from the thermostatic cartridge. To do this, unscrew the faulty CD valve by using a spanner on the 18mm nut located at the rear end of the cartridge.

See to it that the replacement Bristan VLV 04070TER-OF is in the “closed” position before putting and fastening it in the cartridge.

Should the splines of the flow cartridge break and remain in the valve, drill a small and shallow hole right in the middle of the spline and use a screw extractor to remove it.
