Here is a brief and general guide to CART 5 cartridge replacement. But before beginning, please ensure water supply lines leading to the valve to be worked in are turned off. If you are unable to locate the isolation valves, please shut off the water flow from the main supply line.

Accessing the Cartridge
Different shower valves differ in the design of its control handle so ways to deconstruct the handle vary.
- For the Bristan Omega and Osborne, undo the screw on the indicator cap followed by the retaining screw. Lift the ring out (the Osborne does not have this piece), then slide the handle off.
- For the Bristan Pisa, flip the indicator out. Undo the screw to remove the handle.

Pull the circlip and the flow-control off. Then proceed to undo the two screws on the cartridge fixing plate. You can now access the cartridge.

Replacing the Bristan CART 5 06732COMPL Cartridge
Ease the old cartridge out of the shower valve. See if the valve is set in the off position before inserting the new cartridge in.

Apply silicone lubricant made especially for plumbing directly onto the o-rings and seals of the new cartridge. As you install the cartridge in the valve seat, make sure the screw holes in the cartridge will align with the holes on the to-be-installed fixing plate. If it does not; remove, turn, and then reinstall the CART 5 06732COMPL cartridge.

Reconstructing the Valve
With the screw slots aligned, screw the slip ring and fixing ring back securely. Reinstate and tighten the screw back on the flow control, the circlip, and the temperature control. Restore the indicator. Turn water supplies on and check if the Bristan CART 5 06732COMPL installation is done well.

Adjusting Temperature Calibration
The Bristan CART 5 06732COMPL thermostatic cartridge is calibrated at 41℃ (105.8℉). To check the preset temperature: open the shower tap, spin the temperature control handle counterclockwise until full stop. Allow the water to flow until the temperature peaks to the maximum.

If the out-of-the-box calibration is not in accord with your preference, unscrew and slip the temperature control handle out. Then rotate the CART 5 06732COMPL Bristan cartridge spindle clockwise to lower the temperature or counterclockwise to increase.

Once the desired temperature is reached, restore the handle assembly and re-check the calibration.
