Question: Is this the same cartridge as the S960134NU?

Question: Does this cartridge handle the water flow?
Answer: No. The A963564NU is a thermostatic cartridge which is for the shower valve’s temperature control. For your reference, here are three types of shower valve cartridges:

1. Thermostatic cartridge – This cartridge is the water temperature regulator of the shower valve.
2. Flow cartridge – The flow cartridge is in charge of controlling water flow.
3. Diverter cartridge – This is the shower spare that directs water from the bath tap to the showerhead.

Question: I removed the cartridge, which I believe is the Ideal Standard A963564NU, from the shower valve. It has gunks on the mesh parts. Does this mean the cartridge needs a replacement?
Answer: The gunk that you see is the accumulation of mineral debris and dirt on the A963564NU thermostatic cartridge filters. Over time, this hardens and blocks the water from entering the cartridge. As a result water flow is poor and the thermostat element gets damaged.

Changing the Ideal Standard Trevi A963564NU is the best solution to get your shower to function as normal for longer.

Question: Trevi Therm shower A3000AA goes hot and cold when using it. Is this because of the temperature cartridge?
Answer: Is your hot water feed okay? If it is, then it’s most likely the A963564NU thermostatic shower cartridge has gone faulty.

Question: Will this part fix a leaking shower?
Answer: There can be several reasons why a shower is leaking:

– If the dripping comes from the showerhead, it might be because of the flow cartridge or the shower’s gear cogs.
– If the leak is coming from the flow control handle, the flow cartridge might be broken.
– If the leak is coming from the temperature control handle, you might need a replacement A963564NU cartridge.
