How to: Fitting the Aqualisa 900302 Thermostatic Cartridge in the Gainsborough GS700 and TT07 Shower Valves

Both Gainsborough GS700 and TT07 – which uses the Aqualisa 900302 – are suitable with systems with either low or high water pressure. Should the pressure be higher than 5 bar, it is recommended to install a pressure reducing valve as too much pressure can damage the thermostatic cartridge and the shower valve.

To do a shower repair with the Aqualisa 900302, start by shutting off the valve’s water supply and pressure.

The Aqualisa 900302 is a push-fit, non-threaded thermostatic cartridge. This shower valve part adjusts water temperature.

1. Pop out the chrome screw cap from the middle of the valve’s control handle/s.

2. Pull the handle to separate it from the locking ring/s.

3. Unscrew the locking ring/s by hand and remove the concealing plate.

4. Remove the temperature stop and the thermostatic cartridge retaining ring.

5. Extract the faulty cartridge from the valve.

6. Before fitting the replacement 900302 thermostatic cartridge grease the O-rings of the cartridge with plumbing grease. This will help the new spare part seal in the valve.

7. Reassemble the parts removed by following steps 1 to 4 in reverse order.
