Question: Is this the Bristan E10017 required to stop the shower from dripping?
Answer: Yes, The Bristan E10017 can cure incessant dripping.

However, you can also have a look at the flow cartridge 81E20104-000-001 (for Bristan Quadrato) or the diverter cartridge E20209 (for Bristan Quadrado with diverter) as these parts could be candidates for the leak.

Question: We have a Bristan Quadrato QD SHXDIVFF C. Can you please guide me on how to get the E10017 cartridge out?
Answer: Follow these simple steps which can help you remove the Bristan E10017 thermostatic cartridge.

1. Shut off the bar shower’s water supply.

2. Prise out the small round cap on the side of the temperature control handle.

3. Undo or loosen the screw that attaches the handle to the valve.

4. Pull the temperature control handle to remove it from the Bristan Quadrato valve.

5. Study the position of the temperature stop ring. Please remember where the raised part of the stop ring is positioned. You can take a photo to help you remember. The stop ring has to be returned in the same position when reassembling the Bristan Quadrato shower bar.

6. Unscrew the grub screw from the bottom of the valve.

7. Pull the Bristan E10017 to remove it from the bar mixer shower.

Question: We've noticed the temperature handle of the Bristan bar shower has built a resistance when turning. Is there something wrong with the E10017 thermostatic cartridge?
Answer: Hardening of calcium and other minerals may have occurred around the Bristan E10017 cartridge spline and the temperature control handle.

Replacing the cartridge as soon as possible will avert the need for a more expensive solution which is shower bar valve replacement. The reason for this is the longer you wait to replace the cartridge the more calcification will occur. It will make removing the handle and cartridge impossible.
