Question: How do I remove and install the cartridge in the Bristan Buzz?
Answer: Simple fitting guide for the Bristan TWK-25:

– Remove the circular screw cover from the shower’s temperature control handle.
– Loosen the screw and remove the handle.

– Remove the temperature stop ring. Please become familiar with the position of the stop on the stop ring. A photo of this part while attached can be taken and used as a reference in reassembly.
– Use a spanner to unscrew the faulty cartridge from the shower valve. Discard the old cartridge.

– Grease the rubber seals of the replacement Bristan thermostatic cartridge TWK-25. Use only silicone-based lubricant which is formulated for plumbing purposes. Please scroll to the last section of the page to see the silicone grease we offer.

– Push the new cartridge in the Bristan Buzz (BUZ SHXDIVCTFF C) shower valve. Secure the thread to hold the cartridge in place.
– Reassemble the stop ring and the valve handle.

Question: What is the flow valve cartridge? I will also need that part for a more comprehensive shower repair.
Answer: The flow valve cartridge for the Bristan Buzz is part number SL20T180A.

Question: There is no spring on the cartridge when I pulled it out of the valve.
Answer: The spring is left inside the valve. Look inside the valve and use pliers to remove the spring.

Question: Our Bristan shower is running only hot water even at the coldest setting. Will replacing the Bristan TWK-25 cartridge fix it?
Answer: Before concluding if a cartridge change is needed when the shower valve is delivering only hot water, there are two things that need to be checked:

1. Both hot and cold water supply pipes must have constant and consistent water pressure and water flow. The pressure of the two pipes must be equal. At the same time, each of the pipes must be clear of any blockage; in your case the cold water supply.

2. If the pressure and water feeds are good, then the thermostatic cartridge might be what caused the problem. Replacing the Bristan TWK-25 might alleviate the issue and get your shower to run like before.
