Francis Pegler Shower Thermostatic Cartridge Installation Guide

Here is the thermostatic cartridge fitting process for the Francis Pegler Lusso and Francis Pegler Visio shower valves.

Francis Pegler Lusso Thermostatic Cartridge Replacement
1. Isolate hot and cold water supplies before attempting to replace the Francis Pegler Lusso thermostatic cartridge.
2. Remove the decorative cap on the centre of the temperature lever handle. You can use a flat tool to help remove it. Take care not to scratch the handle’s finish.
3. Unscrew to remove the lever handle and the adaptor. Proceed to remove the plastic washer. (Please take a photo or note down the position of the plastic washer before removing for later reference.)

4. Use a 2.5mm hexagonal key to unscrew the ring, the teflon ring and remove the flow control handle.
5. Use a 30mm spanner to undo and remove the old thermostatic cartridge.
6. Coat the O-rings of the replacement Francis Pegler Lusso thermostatic cartridge with plumbing grease and install it in the valve.

7. Put together the valve handle starting with the flow control handle, the teflon ring, and the next ring piece. Screw it back in place.
8. Return the plastic washer according to its position before it was removed (see step 3).
9. Return the adaptor and the temperature lever. Clip back the centre decorative cap.

Francis Pegler Visio Thermostatic Cartridge Replacement
1. To begin installing the Francis Pegler Visio thermostatic cartridge, isolate hot and cold water supplies.
2. Unscrew the lever handle to access the grub screw. Then proceed to undo the grub screw with a 2.5mm hexagonal key. Remove the temperature control handle and the plastic washer. (Please take a photo or note down the position of the plastic washer before removing for later reference.)

3. Use a 2.5mm hexagonal key to remove the second ring, the teflon ring, and the flow control handle.
4. Use a 30mm spanner to unscrew the faulty thermostatic cartridge.

5. Apply a small amount of plumbing grease on the O-rings of the new Francis Pegler Visio thermostatic cartridge and seat it in the shower valve.
6. Reassemble the valve starting with the flow control handle, the teflon ring, and the other ring. Screw the ring in place using the 2.5mm hexagonal key.

7. Slip back the plastic washer according to its original position as stated in step 2. You can now calibrate the cartridge to your preferred temperature by turning the spindle.
8. Restore the temperature handle and the lever.
