Question: Can you tell me why I need a new cartridge?
Answer: There are indications that the MX ZJA cartridge needs to be replaced, this includes a dripping shower head, weak water flow, and temperature control problems. These happen because the cartridge is either broken or debris and dirt have accumulated in or around the cartridge. For your shower to be up and running as normal for a long time, the cartridge needs to be replaced.

Question: The shower I have to repair is the Atmos Edge. How do I fit in the cartridge?
Answer: Here are the fitting instructions for the MX ZJA thermostatic cartridge in the Edge Concentric Valve:

1. Remove the handle. The screw is at the right side (your left side) of the temperature handle.

2. Remove the stop ring followed by the flow control handle.

3. Slide out the wallplate.

4. Undo the cartridge collar and remove the cartridge.

5. Coat a thin layer of silicone grease on all the O-rings of the replacement MX ZJA thermostatic cartridge. Fit it in the valve and secure it with the cartridge collar.

6. Reassemble the wallplate, the flow handle, stop ring, and temperature handle.

Question: Is the grease really that important?
Answer: Yes, it is important. The grease allows for the new thermostatic cartridge to seal in the valve properly. Should you need the plumbing grease please scroll down to the last section to see the available choices.

Question: The shower is suddenly lukewarm.
Answer: This is due to the cartridge wearing out. The thermostatic cartridge needs to be changed.
