Symptoms: Unstable temperature while using the shower.

The thermostatic cartridge for Bathstore Metro exposed bath and shower valve can be accessed and replaced by:

– removing the screw cover cap on the side of the bar valve’s temperature control,
– loosening the screw and pressing the override button to remove the handle,
– removing the temperature stop ring.

– Use a spanner and turn it anti-clockwise to remove the faulty cartridge.

– Apply a thin coating of plumbing grease on all the four O-rings of the replacement temperature control cartridge for the Bathstore Metro exposed bar valve. (You can find one of the best silicone grease used for plumbing in the last section of this page.)

– Insert the newly greased cartridge in the Bathstore Metro exposed shower valve. Tighten the threads with the spanner.
– Restore the temperature stop ring. Make sure the stop point is pointing directly upwards.

– Restore the handle retaining screw and pop in the screw cover cap.
