Vado CEL-001A-WAX Thermostatic Cartridge Shuttle for Celcius CEL-179 and CEL-279 Shower Valves. The piston is used in the SNINASF cartridge housing. The CEL-001A-WAX includes:
- 1 x Piston Shuttle
- 1 x Wax Thermostat Element

Used on the following shower valves:
- Crosswater 3/4 Dual Control Shower Spares Ultra 3/4 Dual Control Shower Valve
- Vado Celsius CEL-179 Concealed Thermostatic Single Axis Valve with Round Backplate
- Vado Celsius CEL-179 Exposed Thermostatic Single Axis Valve with Round Backplate

Please note that the shuttle does not have the o ring which your existing piston may have as the new version of the piston doesn't include the o ring as it restricts shuttle movement.

Question: My shower has started to get have problems with the temperature of the water. It may be fine for a few minutes, but then it will get cold. I've made sure that hot water is reaching the valve but it still won't get hot so what's the problem? Is it that small internal orange part?
Answer: By the sounds of it, the shuttle and wax thermostat could be at fault. You could try replacing it as it's likely this is the problem.
